Long regarded as the Holy Grail of the Porsche 956-962 series 956-007 achieved legendary status after Stephan Bellof set the fastest ever recorded time around the infamous Nordschleife circuit of 6:11:13 during qualifying for the Nurburgring 1000KM race in 1983. During the race and against direct orders from Norbert Singer to slow down Bellof set the fastest ever race lap time of 6:25:19 before suffering a huge aerial accident at the Pflanzgarten.
